Welcome to The Brony Musician Database!
Please select any letter below to get started.
The Brony Musician Database is a free, non-sponsored, volunteer fan project to share links of "Brony music." All artwork used on the artist pages is owned and/or used by their respective musicians. By posting these images on the pages, we do not claim ownership of any of the art; all artwork used for the pages is used for education, research, and noncommercial purposes under the "Fair Use Act of 1976."

Project Overview: What is this Database?
Brony Musician Database is a free, modernized link page to contain as many up-to-date links to Brony Musicians' media. This project was originally made for Brony Music Anniversary, but as time went on, its use could be used for a more widespread group of fans as well as other brony music projects (like for the writers of Horse Music Herald). It was eventually separated as a spiritual separate project to Brony Music Anniversary, but the partnership & mutual benefits remained since they are both created by the same person. Our goal is to showcase as many musicians as we can, so long as they have at least one link.
Brony Musician Database Link Buttons
Has Link

Shown with a colored image of the logo. This button means there is a link if you click on the button.
No Link Found

Shown with a greyscale image of the logo & a "Not Allowed" symbol. This button means there was not a link found. Clicking the button will take you to the site's homepage.
Dead Link

Shown with a greyscale image of the logo & text stating "Dead Link." This button means there was a link found, but the link doesn't work when clicked & can possibly only be viewed using the Wayback Machine (This only applies to Music Content Links). Clicking the link will take you to the most up-to-date link.
Restricted Link

Shown with a black & white image of the logo & text stating "Restricted Link." This button means there was a link found, but due to reasons, it is restricted to the public database (This is only put on Social Media Links or any links that grants monetary gains. See the Musician Restriction section below for more info). Clicking the button will take you to the site's homepage.
The Sites used for Brony Musician Database
Brony Musician Database hosts up to 15 unique sites for musician content hosting, promotion, streaming, information, etc. It is split off in three major categories: "Social Links & Personal Site," "Music Information Links," and "Music Content Links. Each link is explained in more detail below.
Social Links & Personal Site

Brony Musicians might have a vast network of pages across many popular social medias, but Twitter (aka X) has always been the most popular. Being a diverse platform that can be used for literally anything, Brony Musicians use Twitter for their own promotional & news purposes. It's also considered the gateway for most of their other platforms.

After the first major downfall of Twitter in 2023, some members of the community started making secondary accounts on Bluesky. After major Twitter changes mid-2024, almost every musician that was still active in the fandom/community at that time created a Bluesky account as a secondary Twitter-like social media and/or as a failsafe if Twitter implodes. With some musicians completely abandoning or even deleting their Twitter as a result, this site is now considered to also be some musicians' main social media account.

Not as popular as the other social media sites, but just a relevant, is Equestria Social (a subnetwork server under Mastodon, which is also a Twitter-like alternative with more features). While there are other pony servers on Mastodon, Equestria Social is the oldest & most used, so that is the blanket term we are using; an "Equestria Social Link" on BMDb could be a "Pony Social" account, standard Mastodon account, or any other subnetwork server.

Personal sites are an artist's personal site they use for music stuff. They are mostly custom-made by the artist.
Personal sites are not the following:
-Blatant Link Pages
-Sites that have nothing to do with the music
-Pages that are a child page of a parent site (like the other links)
Basically, they are custom-url sites that are a portfolio for the musician, are an archive of just said artist, and/or host any music commissions (with very few exceptions).
Music Information Links

Last.fm is a music streaming and discovery platform that tracks users' music listening habits as well as provides personalized recommendations based on a listener's music tastes. It is also a place where artists can promote their own music, share information & gain insight to their listeners' tastes.Because this site treats alt/past names as well as well as collab. songs as different pages compared to the main artist's page, BMDb will only link the link of the BMDb musician's name as well as any alt names' pages. Any collab. links will not be linked here due to space reasons.

Rate Your Music (or RYM) is basically like an online encyclopedia of music (as well as films). This site allows users to catalogue & rate music from their collection on a scale of 1-5 stars. This site is perfect for people who want to see how good or bad a song is based on testimonials of other listeners.Because this site treats alt/past names as well as well as collab. songs as different pages compared to the main artist's page, BMDb will only link the link of the BMDb musician's name as well as any alt names' pages. Any collab. links will not be linked here due to space reasons.

Discogs is a music information site that not only focuses on both music & musicians' information/links, but has a heavy presence in the information & reselling of physical music media like CDs and Vinyl. Out of all of the sites on BMDb, Discogs is the only site that doesn't have any direct promotion or any monetization of any musicians, but focuses more on the information & second-hand consumer-side of music distribution.

Genius is an online encyclopedia that focuses on music information & promotion, but especially on music lyrics. This site is the best site for searching lyrics to your favorite songs & gaining additional information past the music itself.Because this site treats alt/past names as well as well as collab. songs as different pages compared to the main artist's page, BMDb will only link the link of the BMDb musician's name as well as any alt names' pages. Any collab. links will not be linked here due to space reasons.
Music Content Links

Bandcamp is the most popular site for downloads & monetization. Having options for free, pay what you want, or minimum price downloads (as well as a personalized library for your purchased items), it's the most versatile music service & also one of the most musician-friendly services, giving a staggering 82% average to the musician.

YouTube is considered to be the most popular mediums for sharing music & hosts the most amount of musicians within the Brony fandom. Their music channel is the one listed, unless the artist removed their YouTube and all that remains is an archive channel.

Soundcloud is another popular posting platform for Brony Musicians and is often considered to be the alternative compared to Bandcamp. It is also a place where many musicians post WIP, unfinished, or "lesser quality" works.

Pony.fm is the largest, still active site created solely for pony music downloads. Some artists might only post their downloads on Pony.fm and others might restrict their music to keep it only for their monetary sites, but all in all, it's the fandom's most popular archival platform for music. Some artists under "no-link" or "dead link" might have a Pony.fm artist profile, but the link does not properly link to it.

Although one of the least-used platforms compared to the other ones on the database, Apple Music (aka iTunes) is still a significant monetization platform used as an alternative to Bandcamp.

Spotify is the most popular streaming-based mediums for musicians.Since Spotify creates user profiles for artists automatically from compilation albums, even if an artist does have a Spotify profile, the only Spotify links posted are ones that are "Verified Artists" and/or have their own stuff posted that wasn't a part of a compilation album/other musicians' music.

While not as popular or mainstream as Spotify, Amazon Music is another streaming platform for musicians. Where Amazon Music differs is if said music from a musician is for sale on Amazon, they have the opportunity to buy it from the same site.
Musician Names & How We Dealt With Those With Multiple Names/projects

Over time, musicians either changed their names or made new projects. One issue with this on other music databases/sites is they either don't update the names or the name links are old names. Brony Musician Database attempts to showcase as many alt. names as we can while all linking to the same person. There are two different methods to how musicians changed their names:
1.) They have an alternate or a changed name, but kept the same links/pages (with or without changing the name on everything).
2.) They created new links for their new or alternate names, essentially creating a new project/new identity (while keeping the old one like a separate identity).
If they fall under #1, they will be represented as separate choices if they are different enough or start with separate letters (For example: WoodenToaster & Glaze), but will both link to the same artist page with the most current name we have (WoodenToaster in that example).Alternate & old names that are extremely similar or would be next to each other with the links (For Example: Aoshi & Aoshi Den) will be combined into one button (Aoshi/Aoshi Den in that example).
If they fall under #2, they will have two separate link pages, but a note on the older one will link the current name's link page (For example: with ProtoShadez & StealingShad3z, they'll have two pages, but StealingShad3z will have a link to ProtoShadez's link page).
Artist URLs will not be changed after they are made, even if the artist changes their name. Their main name on the link page will be changed. It's just too hard to change all the URLs linked.
Brony Musician Database also hosts link pages for duo groups or bands. In a similar fashion to artists that made a new project with their new name, duo groups and bands will follow a similar principle. The links on the page will be specific for that group, but there will be links under the name that link to the individual musicians.
Musician Policy
Musicians listed here have done something pony in some way, whether they actively make or made pony tracks, made a one-hit-wonder, submitted to a Brony music label, or something else pony related. All links, music, & profile images used belong to the respective artist(s) & we do not claim ownership.
Brony Musician Database & Fair Use Act of 1976
The Brony Musician Database is a free, non-sponsored, volunteer fan project to share links of "Brony music." All artwork used on the artist pages is owned and/or used by their respective musicians. By posting these images on the pages, we do not claim ownership of any of the art; all artwork used for the pages is used for education, research, and noncommercial purposes under the "Fair Use Act of 1976."
Musician Restrictions
In a similar fashion to our partner, Brony Music Anniversary, we follow the Archivist Code & do not delete data, but depending on the situation, do put restrictions on musicians & their public links. We also believe in separation of musician & music here at Brony Musician Database, are anti cancel-culture, and support freedom of speech, so unless the music is highly offensive or physically hurting someone, it usually will still be listed (but most, if not all the musician's links would be restricted). We follow the exact same "Five Tier" system as BMAnn in terms of how we restrict and will have the same restricted projects too. This is due to our mutual partnership & data sharing with them. The tier level used depends on the the degree of the musician's actions that caused restriction considerations to begin with.To avoid slandering the restricted musicians (and because it's not our place), none of what they did will be publicly shared nor will their Tier be publicly stated. We'll only do the restrictions & possibly share the list of artists that we are not going to have a public link page for. If you want to know what the artist did to get the restrictions, most cases are very easy to find online.
Archivist Code
You're not an archive when you delete files, but you only have to hide them from the public when you receive a takedown request.

BMAnn's Five Tiers of Restriction
Tier I:
No more tagging on Twitter & restricted Twitter link for Brony Musician Database.
Tier II:
Tier I + no more public posts of anniversary on Twitter.
Tier III:
Tier II + all links that can gain monetization are restricted (basically all but Pony.FM).
Tier IV:
Tier III + removal of the music fully off the public link pages
Tier V:
Full purge off of BMAnn & all partnering projects.
AI Policy

(This image is AI generated & is only used here because of the topic. Please go support your favorite artists instead of AI prompters)
With the rise of AI, and especially with AI that can threaten to replace traditional forms of media, we feel like we need to address our stance on the matter. Here at BMDb, we are not completely anti-AI, but we do not endorse it at all for full media creation. AI is a wonderful thing that has revolutionized the world and always needs to be embraced for the future, but like many things, it should not be a means to an end; AI should be used as a tool to help aid in creation, NOT to be used for full creation with little to no human input. That is why here at BMDb, we will not be adding anyone that uses AI nearly or fully as their entire creation. With that being said, artists that use AI as a tool to help with their music production are totally ok!Artists that use AI vocals or vocaloids are ok too so long as the vocals are used in a way to enhance a song and especially if the music itself was created by a human being. Some musician examples that use extreme, heavy-AI vocals in their songs that are perfectly OK on the Brony Musician Database include vul, BGM, and others.

Special Thanks to the following for contributing to BMDb, whether directly or indirectly

Bolt the Super-Pony
Thank you so much for helping us with the Radio Section. Your knowledge helped locate some stations that we didn't even know existed!

Evee Tails
Where do we start? Thank you for making that Radio Station document that helped us find some stations, which also helped get you on board with everything.A HUGE thank you for being the #1 submitter of musicians for the database. At the time of writing this, you submitted 600+ musicians that weren't on the database at the time. This is very much appreciated! Thank you so much for your passion & enthusiasm for Pony Music!

Luck Rock
Thank you for everything you do for the Brony Music Scene! From your Brony Music Tracking document, to Top Brony Music, from your leadership at Horse Music Herald to your weekly Music Nights, and not to mention your convention leadership & encouragement for ALL musicians within the fandom, you easily keep the hype alive for the music scene. We've used every document & project that you've created and/or maintained over the years, and everything was extremely helpful!

brambleshadow4
Thank you for all your feedback for BMDb, especially all the feedback during Beta Phases. Thank you for taking the time to have long conversations at cons related to this project as well as hours of just pure fandom music stuff!Oh, and btw, we still might take you up on your offer to move it to your network in the future! <3

mike82
Thank you for creating the massive Discogs List, "My Little Pony 1 - The Artists," and maintaining it for many, many years. That list helped tremendously for finding artists on Discogs when we did that expansion.

Slush Pony
Thank you so much for creating the amazing Vinyl Scratch image that we use for BMDb & its promotional material. There's a reason you are basically my go-to artist.

Tw3Lv3
Thank you for creating the massive Bluesky list "pony music 👍" with as many music makers as you could find on it. After completing a painstaking search of individual's name, seeing a list like that helped find so many missing names that were not found through the search bar alone.I'm also glad we could also work together to fill in as many missing musicians' Bluesky accounts as we could between both of our projects.

Koa
Thank you Koa for literally all you do for the Brony Music scene! Not only has she managed all the musicians at multiple cons, but is one of the best wells of information & networking with musicians.Specifically speaking, thank you for all your musician editing over on Genius. It helped BMDb find a good number of musicians' Genius pages through your profile's edit pathways. Also thank you for all that wonderful info & lyric transcriptions for said musicians/music as well as in general throughout the years!
