Welcome to The Brony Musician Database!

Please select any button below to get started.

The Brony Musician Database is a free, non-sponsored, volunteer fan project to share links of "Brony music." All artwork used on the artist pages is owned and/or used by their respective musicians. By posting these images on the pages, we do not claim ownership of any of the art; all artwork used for the pages is used for education, research, and noncommercial purposes under the "Fair Use Act of 1976."

Project Overview: What is this Database?

Brony Musician Database is a free, modernized link page to contain as many up-to-date links to Brony Musicians' media. This project was originally made for Brony Music Anniversary, but as time went on, its use could be used for a more widespread group of fans as well as other brony music projects (like for the writers of Horse Music Herald). It was eventually separated as a spiritual separate project to Brony Music Anniversary, but the partnership & mutual benefits remained since they are both created by the same person. Our goal is to showcase as many musicians as we can, so long as they have at least one link.

Brony Musician Database Link Buttons

Has Link

Shown with a colored image of the logo. This button means there is a link if you click on the button.

No Link Found

Shown with a greyscale image of the logo & a "Not Allowed" symbol. This button means there was not a link found. Clicking the button will take you to the site's homepage.

Dead Link

Shown with a greyscale image of the logo & text stating "Dead Link." This button means there was a link found, but the link doesn't work when clicked & can possibly only be viewed using the Wayback Machine (Twitter & Personal Sites will not have this).

Restricted Link

Shown with a black & white image of the logo & text stating "Restricted Link." This button means there was a link found, but due to reasons, it is restricted to the public database. Clicking the button will take you to the site's homepage.

Brony Musicians might have a vast network of pages across many popular social medias, but Twitter (aka X) has always been the most popular. Being a diverse platform that can be used for literally anything, Brony Musicians use Twitter for their own promotional & news purposes. It's also considered the gateway for most of their other platforms.

Personal sites are an artist's personal site they use for music stuff. They are mostly custom-made by the artist.Personal sites are not the following:
-Blatant Link Pages
-Sites that have nothing to do with the music
-Pages that are a child page of a parent site (like the other links)
Basically, they are custom-url sites that are all only about the artist (with very few exceptions).

Bandcamp is the most popular site for downloads & monetization. Having options for free, pay what you want, or minimum price downloads (as well as a personalized library for your purchased items), it's the most versatile music service & also one of the most musician-friendly services, giving a staggering 82% average to the musician.

Although one of the least-used platforms compared to the other ones on the database, Apple Music (aka iTunes) is still a significant monetization platform used as an alternative to Bandcamp.

YouTube is considered to be the most popular mediums for sharing music & hosts the most amount of musicians within the Brony fandom. Their music channel is the one listed, unless the artist removed their YouTube and all that remains is an archive channel.

Spotify is the most popular streaming-based mediums for musicians.Since Spotify creates user profiles for artists automatically from compilation albums, even if an artist does have a Spotify profile, the only Spotify links posted are ones that are "Verified Artists" and/or have their own stuff posted that wasn't a part of a compilation album/other musicians' music.

Soundcloud is another popular posting platform for Brony Musicians and is often considered to be the alternative compared to Bandcamp. It is also a place where many musicians post WIP, unfinished, or "lesser quality" works.

Pony.fm is the largest, still active site created solely for pony music downloads. Some artists might only post their downloads on Pony.fm and others might restrict their music to keep it only for their monetary sites, but all in all, it's the fandom's most popular archival platform for music. Some artists under "no-link" or "dead link" might have a Pony.fm artist profile, but the link does not properly link to it.

Musician Names & How We Dealt With Those With Multiple Names/projects

Over time, musicians either changed their names or made new projects. One issue with this on other music databases/sites is they either don't update the names or the name links are old names. Brony Musician Database attempts to showcase as many alt. names as we can while all linking to the same person. There are two different methods to how musicians changed their names:
1.) They have an alternate or a changed name, but kept the same links/pages (with or without changing the name on everything).
2.) They created new links for their new or alternate names, essentially creating a new project/new identity (while keeping the old one like a separate identity).

If they fall under #1, they will be represented as separate choices if they are different enough or start with separate letters (For example: WoodenToaster & Glaze), but will both link to the same artist page with the most current name we have (WoodenToaster in that example).Alternate & old names that are extremely similar or would be next to each other with the links (For Example: Aoshi & Aoshi Den) will be combined into one button (Aoshi/Aoshi Den in that example).

If they fall under #2, they will have two separate link pages, but a note on the older one will link the current name's link page (For example: with ProtoShadez & StealingShad3z, they'll have two pages, but StealingShad3z will have a link to ProtoShadez's link page).

Artist URLs will not be changed after they are made, even if the artist changes their name. Their main name on the link page will be changed. It's just too hard to change all the URLs linked.

Brony Musician Database also hosts link pages for duo groups or bands. In a similar fashion to artists that made a new project with their new name, duo groups and bands will follow a similar principle. The links on the page will be specific for that group, but there will be links under the name that link to the individual musicians.

Musician Policy

Musicians listed here have done something pony in some way, whether they actively make or made pony tracks, made a one-hit-wonder, submitted to a Brony music label, or something else pony related. All links, music, & profile images used belong to the respective artist(s) & we do not claim ownership.

Brony Musician Database & Fair Use Act of 1976

The Brony Musician Database is a free, non-sponsored, volunteer fan project to share links of "Brony music." All artwork used on the artist pages is owned and/or used by their respective musicians. By posting these images on the pages, we do not claim ownership of any of the art; all artwork used for the pages is used for education, research, and noncommercial purposes under the "Fair Use Act of 1976."

Musician Restrictions

In a similar fashion to our partner, Brony Music Anniversary, we follow the Archivist Code & do not delete data, but depending on the situation, do put restrictions on musicians & their public links. We also believe in separation of musician & music here at Brony Musician Database, are anti cancel-culture, and support freedom of speech, so unless the music is highly offensive or physically hurting someone, it usually will still be listed (but most, if not all the musician's links are restricted). We follow the exact same "Five Tier" system in terms of how we restrict and will have the same restricted projects as BMAnn. This is due to our mutual partnership & data sharing with them. The tier level used depends on the the degree of the musician's actions that caused restriction considerations to begin with.To avoid slandering the restricted musicians (and because it's not our place), none of what they did will be publicly shared nor will their Tier be publicly stated. We'll only do the restrictions & possibly share the list of artists that we are not going to have a public link page for. If you want to know what the artist did to get the restrictions, most cases are very easy to find online.

Archivist Code

You're not an archive when you delete files, but you only have to hide them from the public when you receive a takedown request.
